Benefits

Online Alumni Community and Lifetime E-mail - Keep your @law.gwu.edu e-mail address after you graduate! Our Alumni Community allows you to search for GW Law Alumni, keep in touch with classmates through Discussion Forums and Alumni Highlights, post and receive upcoming event announcements, and maintain your @law.gwu.edu e-mail address.

Career Development - The Career Development Office provides alumni access to Job Postings, the Alumni Career Advisor Network, Informational Handouts, the National Directory of Legal Recruiters, Judicial Clerkship Application Assistance, and Individual Career Counseling Sessions.

Leadership Directories - Alumni may access leadership directories through the Alumni Community. You must be a registered user of the Alumni Community to access this feature:

  1. If you are not already, please LOGIN.
  2. Once you're logged in, Leadership Directories will appear under Benefits and Services at the top of the page.
      • If you do not see the link to Leadership Directories after logging in, you have not completed your Alumni Community registration. At the top of the page, visit My Account and choose the Account Information tab to read and accept the Terms and Conditions to complete your registration.

NALP Directory of Legal Employers
The National Association for Law Placement (NALP) publishes a directory of legal employers every year. This directory provides information on member firms, including firm profiles, contacts, salary information, hours, benefits, demographics, hiring criteria, and other valuable data for students and alumni. Students and graduates may search legal employers that fit certain criteria by doing an "Advanced Search." Additionally, students and alumni may export data from the NALP Directory of Legal Employers into an Excel document to use for mail merge purposes.   2. Once you're logged in, NALP Directory of Legal Employers will appear under Benefits and Services in the navigation menu.
      • If you do not see the link to NALP Directory of Legal Employers after logging in, you have not completed your Alumni Community registration. At the top of the page, visit My Account and choose the Account Information tab to read and accept the Terms and Conditions to complete your registration.

Jacob Burns Law Library - Law School Alumni may utilize the Jacob Burns Law Library by presenting their GW Law Alumni Association card, along with a photo ID. GWLAA cards may be obtained from the Office of Alumni Relations in Lisner Hall, 2023 G Street N.W., Suite 204, and are non-transferable.

Gelman Library - You may also access GW’s main library, the Gelman Library by obtaining a GWorld Alumni ID card.

Alumni Weekends - Each year, the Law School hosts an Alumni Weekend in Washington, DC for selected class years. All alumni, however, are encouraged to attend.

Worldwide Alumni Events - The Office of Alumni Relations hosts events worldwide, including annual regional events in California, Washington, Texas, Georgia, Florida, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and more. The Office also sponsors regular events in Metro DC. Check the Alumni Event Calendar for upcoming events in your neighborhood!

GW Magazine – Law School editions - In addition to the GW Magazine sent to all GW alumni, Law School issues are published in the fall and spring for GW Law alumni.

E-Newsletter - Receive the monthly E-Newsletter to keep informed about upcoming GW Law alumni events happening in DC and around the world, news affecting GW Law, and more. LOGIN to the Alumni Community and keep your email updated in My Profile to receive the newsletter in your e-mail inbox each month.

Law Alumni Associations & Interest Groups - In addition to the George Washington Law Alumni Association to which all Law School alumni belong, GW Law alumni may participate in the Black Law Alumni Association, Latino Law Alumni Association, and Government Contracts Alumni Interest Group.

Stockton Guard - Alumni who graduated 40 or more years ago are invited to join the Stockton Guard. Members of this esteemed society are invited to a luncheon with the Dean twice each year and participate in the May Commencement Ceremony.

GW Alumni Association Benefits - All Law School alumni are also automatically members of the George Washington Alumni Association (GWAA), which includes alumni from all schools within the University. Membership in the GWAA entitles you to additional alumni benefits.
