“We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill.
Why give to the Reunion Class Gift?
As the cost of legal education in the United States continues to rise, more and more students require financial assistance to achieve their educational goals. Class Scholarships provide critical support to the Law school’s most pressing need, to provide funding support that will make a GW Law education possible for future generations.
How can I participate?
Any amount is appreciated and all donors who make a gift to any law school fund in honor of their reunion will be counted towards the class gift campaign. Donors have the option of making a one-time gift or a 5-year recurring pledge. Donors who make 5-year pledges will enhance their class's reunion gift as the entirety of the pledge counts towards the campaign total. Reunion gifts and pledges made from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015 count toward the Reunion Class Gift Campaign. Exceptional gifts made in honor of a reunion may be included.
Will my gift make a difference?
Yes! Every gift counts, whether you are present for your reunion or not. With your participation, your class may qualify to win one of four awards: The Lawrence Cup, the Dean’s Cup, the Stockton Cup and the Friedenthal Bowl.
- The Lawrence Cup is awarded to the class with the largest percentage attendance at the alumni reunion weekend. This cup is named for former Dean Fred Lawrence.
- The Dean’s Cup is given to the class with the highest overall participation percentage in the Class Gift campaign.
- The Stockton Cup is awarded to the class in the Stockton Guard, composed of those classes that graduated from GW Law 40 years ago or earlier, that raises the most money in its reunion year. It is named for Charles Herbert Stockton, a former dean of the Law School and president of the University who is the namesake of Stockton Hall.
- The Friedenthal Bowl honors former GW Law Dean Jack H. Friedenthal and is awarded to the class that is not a Stockton Guard class that raises the most money in its reunion year.
